Aloha Junction Bed & Breakfast / Big Island FAQ

Answers to some of the most often asked questions about the Bed & Breakfast and your Big Island visit may be found here

Q: What is your check-in and check-out time?
A: Check-in is 3:00 PM (or anytime after) and check-out is 10:00 AM. If you need to arrive earlier you can drop off your luggage here and come back at check-in time.  Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged for an additional fee.

Q: I don't plan to arrive until quite late in the evening. Is that a problem?
A: No, you can arrive at any time after check-in time.  Please inquire about the gate opener combination code.

Q: What time do you serve breakfast? I have an early appointment.....
A: We generally serve breakfast at 8:00, but if you need to adjust that time to suit your schedule please let us know. We'll be happy to accommodate.

Q: What can I expect for breakfast?
A: A few of our favorites include Macadamia-nut pancakes with strawberries and a variety of some of our exotic local syrups, french toast, or farm-fresh eggs. We always offer the first course of a tropical fruit boat made up of fresh Papaya, bananas, and a squeeze of fresh lemons from the addition of course to coffee, and Estate-grown green tea and juice will be available.

Q: Is the B&B available as a whole house rental?
A: We can accommodate both individual room reservations and whole-house rentals. When you rent the whole house you will not be sharing it with other guests.

Q: I see you serve a full breakfast for your B&B guests. Do you also serve breakfast for your whole house rental?
A: We do not serve breakfast when you rent a full house. We respect your privacy and do not intrude upon that once you have occupancy. You will have a full kitchen with all appliances to satisfy all your needs.

Q: How many people will Aloha Junction accommodate?
A: We can accommodate groups ranging in size from one to 24 in our house.

Q: How far away is HVNP Hawaii Volcanes National Park from Aloha Junction B&B?
A: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is 1 scenic mile from us. Hilo airport is approximately a 45 minute or 30-mile drive and Kona airport is about 100 miles or 3- hour one-way trip.

Q: Will there be a television in my room?
A: Yes, each room has a television AND WIFI you can "Surf the Web, from your  Bed!"

Q: Can I get a private bath?
A: Yes, each room also has a private bath.

Q: I'd like to bring my two children. Do you a room which will suit us?
A: Aloha Junction has a room that is particularly well suited for families. In addition to its King & Queen bed, it has another adjoining room with a Queen Bed. This suite is a special favorite for families with children, pet lovers, or young adults.

Q: Are there restaurants nearby?
A: Yes, there are several delicious restaurants just a few minutes drive from Aloha Junction inside the Volcano Village. Some of our favorites are "Cafe Ono",  "Lava Rock Cafe", Thai-Thai Restaurant and the "Kilauea Lodge".  See our Restaurant List for info and directions.

Q: What other amenities does Aloha Junction B&B have?
A: Volcano Village is a very small town, with about 2200 people (from the 22-mile marker at Atkatsuka Orchid Farm to the Volcano Golf Course so I’d guess it doesn’t have all the big town amenities like drive-in's etc. It does have a gas station, two grocery stores, several restaurants, cafes, and other small-town amenities.  All-in-all you should be able to get any of the basics that you need here. We have a few stores tho they may not meet all your wants, so for extended stays, we suggest you plan ahead and stock up at Walmart or Cost-U-Less in Hilo before you arrive.  Hilo is approximately 45 minutes away on Hwy 11 (N).
