The Rim
Distance from B&B: 2 Miles

Fine Dining: This is a “must-see and do” restaurant located on the rim of  Halemaumau Crater. When making reservations ask for window seats between 5:30 and 6 so you can take it all in while it’s still light out and then hopefully see “the glow” when it's dark, if not too much fog rolls in.

Kilauea Military Camp
Distance from B&B: 3 Miles

Buffet: $11 buffet breakfast, $14 dinner. The dining and food isn’t very impressive but the experience is! The Lava Bar is through an adjoining hallway with a fireplace, room for a ban and dancing and quite fun.  Oddly enough I like this place because it reminds me of what it was designed for ~ a WWII R&R or rest and recreation. There’s a bowling alley, a couple of bars, a dining room and a canteen.
